54th South Asian Integration Children's Camp

The South Asian Children’s Forum is a non-political organization founded by Mr.Jnan Maity in India for the welfare of children from South Asian countries. South Asian Integration Children’s Camp is being organized as its annual programme scheduled in SAARC countries on rotational basis. The main objectives of this camp is to inculcate self help, fellow feeling, community living, team work and bond of common friendship amongst the children of the SAARC region.

For this particular exchange programme, the Department of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Education offers opportunity to youths from the boarder Dzongkhags and Thromdeys for safety reason. Annually, six children and a lady escort from Bhutan take part in the programme on cost sharing basis. So far about 130 students from Chukha, Sarpang, Samtse and Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag has participated in the programme.

As usual, six scouts and a leader from Samtse Dzongkhag participated in the 54th South Asian Integration Children’s Camp in Agra, India from 6th October, 2014 to 11th October, 2014. During the camp, they met with many high level officials and dignitaries including the Hon’ble President of India. They also visited places like Agra, Delhi, Mathura and Vrindabon during the programme. The details of youth who participated in the programme are:
